Creating accessible bilingual animation for Welsh audiences

Creating animation yn Gymraeg is part of our commitment to supporting culture and community.

We’ve created many fully Welsh-language animation projects for clients including S4C, Boom Cymru, Atebol, BBC Bitesize and Cyngor Llyfrau Cymru. We also deliver bilingual (Welsh + English) versions for organisations such as Llywodraeth Cymru, Public Health Wales, WEN Cymru, Medr and more, keeping consistent quality across versions.

With 14 years' experience working in Wales, we're well-versed in meeting evolving Welsh language standards, and supporting access through voiceover and captioning.

We work with accredited professional translators who respect the nuances of tone, idiom and cultural context – and a trusted network of Welsh-speaking voiceover artists, animators, and other collaborators.

Our director, Lauren, is learning Welsh herself, alongside her two young children who are both in Welsh medium education.

Picl Animation has been an absolute dream to work with. From the ideas they brought to the table at the first meeting and throughout the process, their energy and drive for the project brought the film to life. I’d strongly recommend them – and have been recommending them to whoever will listen since I began working with them. I love the final project and would certainly use them again. Responsive, creative, quirky, and women-led, with a nuanced understanding of creating bespoke animations in both Welsh and English. Diolch yn fawr iawn!
